Buffelsbaai,Western Cape

Most of you might not have heard of this gorgeous little village, 15km from Knysna in the heart of the Garden Route.  Buffelsbaai is neatly tucked away in the Goukamma Marine Reserve on a grassy peninsula.

Buffelsbaai is a real holiday destination, with predominantly holiday homes it can get real busy over holiday periods.  It is almost completely surrounded by the ocean, bordered by pebbles, sea-sand and rocky outcrops.  Here you can expect excellent fishing, surfing and spectacular sunrise and sunsets!  Even the local dolphins will enchant you with their energetic displays of wave surfing, and Southern Right whales visit this section of the coast annually between May & November.  Now doesn’t that sound like a piece of heaven??

Buffelsbaai is an isolated, unspoilt, scenic village.  “The wild side” offer visitors safe swimming and suburb surfing conditions.  The many holiday homes are often a bit bland, but they make up for that with their unusual house names.

The natural scenery of Buffelsbaai makes for a photographers dream, with its striking and rather raw diversity of greens, browns and blues.

Hiking is also a popular activity in Buffelsbaai.  The white sandy beach that stretches between Buffelsbaai and Brenton on Sea (7km long) is a popular leisure stroll for the whole family.

Visitors to Buffelsbaai have access to 12 golf courses, situated from Plettenberg Bay to Mossel Bay. Now that will keep you busy for a few days!
