Tsitsikamma, the Garden of The Garden Route

The Garden Route is a spectacular and picturesque tourist region in the Southern Cape and Tsitsikamma lies in the heart of it.

Tsitsikamma is a mountainous region with secluded valleys meaning “place of much water”. It lies between the sea and the Tsitsikamma Mountains and stretches from the Bloukrans River in the west to the Eerste River in the East.
Picture this scene for a minute: waves of the Indian Ocean breaking on rocky shores beneath 180m cliffs, evergreen forests and Fynbos, deep river gorges making their way down to the sea, creating spectacular waterfalls and mild all year round climate. Simply spectacular!

Tsitsikamma offers its visitors loads of outdoor activities, wonderfully scenic hiking trails (including the world renowned Otter Trail), mountain biking trails, hunting safaris and fishing excursions.
Tsitsikamma is home to centuries old trees such as Yellowwood, Stinkwood, Ironwood, Hard Pear, Kamassi and many others. One can also find enchanting animals and birds such as the Knysna Loerie here.
The Tsitsikamma National Park includes 80km of coastline and offers visitors magnificent scenery, walks, a small beach, a restaurant and a shop. The famous Storms River suspension Bridge spans the river mouth and is a popular tourist attraction.

A trip to the Garden Route is not complete without a trip to Tsitsikamma, it is a once in a lifetime experience that will remain imprinted on the mind, that is a guarantee!
