Stellenbosch Woordfees

The fantastic Woordfees (Festival of the Word) has captivated the scenic town of Stellenbosch annually. The unique festival is a celebration of Afrikaans in the arts of literature, drama and music. And the events include entertaining music to innovative drama and moving poetry to fascinating exhibitions. The literary program features debates, talks and readings. Applications for artists, authors, and publishers are available each year.

Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour

For all those cycling enthusiasts the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle tour is definitely not to be missed, and although most have already started training, the Argus is also for those who just want to ride along and enjoy the scenic ride. Families of the cyclists can also enjoy themselves, as a carnival including hospitality tents, entertainment and guaranteed fun awaits the cyclists, their families and friends at Green Point Stadium.

ABSA KKNK (Klein Karoo National Arts Festival)

The Klein Karoo Arts Festival (KKNK) is an Afrikaans arts and culture festival in the Karoo town of Oudtshoorn and although Oudtshoorn might seem far to travel- the ABSA KKNK is well worth the drive, there is ample beautiful accommodation in Oudtshoorn to satisfy every need.

There has been a huge increase in original works this year including 22 plays, 18 music theater and contemporary music productions, 7 classic musicals, four special compound word art programs, two crisp child theater and a high profile new dance theater production. The Rivierbuurt will be a place of leisure for families with a variety of food and music to choose from, a shopping heaven with over 400 stalls, as well as a fun park.
