Bela Bela in Limpopo province is world renowned for the hot water springs which was discovered by the Tswana community in the 1800’s.  With hot water bubbling out of the earth at roughly 22 000 liters per hour at about 53°C, it makes for one of the most popular holiday destinations of South Africa.  The water is rich in chloride, sodium, calcium carbonate and other salts that are believed to have healing properties, therefore Bela Bela is also known as a health destination.
