The Prince Albert Olive Festival 2013 and upcoming events

Entertainment at the Prince Albert Olive Festival that will particularly excite the men is the Beer Tent and the Marquee Tent with a full bar. And something more for the ladies is the Tea Garden at Seven Arches. There is also the Food garden at Koggelmander, Bostea Verandah at Karoo Looms, the Gays Guernsey Dairy and finally the African Relish Products Court, which has delicious Bistro style food and has stalls filled with gorgeous local products. Groot kokkedoor has started on KykNET
Although this isn’t an event per se, it is still something to look forward to. For 13 episodes the country’s best cooks will compete in Prince Albert to become the Groot Kokkedoor. They will be cooking delicious home-style traditional Karoo dishes with a modern twist. And waiting at the end there is big cash, cookbooks and lots of other prizes.

Spirit of Africa Trophy 2013
4X4 skills will be tested to the maximum at the ‘Spirit of Africa Trophy’ this year. This 4×4 event was specially created for drivers who want to test their own skills against the toughest African conditions and other serious 4×4 teams. It is one of the toughest 4×4 events around.
Renowned racing driver Sarel van der Merwe, host of the Spirit of Africa Trophy, chose the Volkswagen Amarok as the official vehicle of the event. It’s a testament to his impeccable off-road credentials that he selected the toughest 4X4 to tackle the toughest 4X4 challenge around.

AfrikaBurn is a spectacular event and the result of the creative expression of participants who gather once a year in the Tankwa Karoo to create a temporary city of art, theme camps, costume, music and performance.
The theme for AfrikaBurn 2013 is ‘Archetypes’ and the result will be nothing short of spectacular: a gathering of self-reliant, expressive people who create themed camps, mutant vehicles, colourful costumes and fantastic music.
